Our long term goal is to purchase land and build a new school and orphanage that will be available for generations of Nepali children in the future. At present the school and orphanage are housed in rented accommodation, but this is fraught with difficulties in a country as economically unstable as Nepal. Rent prices in Kathmandu are soaring, and landlords hold no loyalty towards tenants. The school has already had to relocate premises twice, which is obviously an enormous task and a drain on resources.
Our vision is to build a school that relies on renewable energy, on the outskirts of Balaju Height where the city starts to turn into forest and hills. The plan shown above was created by architect James Nichols as a sketch of what the future school might look like. James has kindly offered to design the new building free of charge once we have raised enough funds to start the project.
